Veterans Benefits: Attig Law Firm Successful in assisting another U.S. Veteran

The Attig Law Firm secured substantial benefits for a Veteran client. The award of benefits to our Veteran Client is the culmination of an eight (8) year fight against the VA, and resulted in service connection and a 70% combined rating for the Veteran's lumbar and back-related injuries.   The Veteran is expected to receive at least $100,000 in past-due VA disability compensation benefits.

The Veteran filed a claim for VA disability compensation in/around 2002.  At each level from the VARO to the BVA, the Veteran's claim was denied. The Veteran hired the Attig Law Firm while his claim was pending filing at the Court of Appeals for Veterans' Claims (CAVC).   The Attig Law Firm secured a remand of the Veteran's case to the BVA for (among other things) a Stegall violation and an inadequate "reasons and bases" decision by the BVA.  On remand, the BVA issued an Order to the VARO directing a C&P exam, and other rights and protections.    After the C&P exam, the Veteran's lumbar conditions were service-connected, granted a combined impairment rating of 70%, and the Veteran was paid ppast-due VA disability compensation benefits dating back to his original claim in 2002.
