You may be able to claim the following types of benefits: Continuation of Pay, reimbursement of medical expenses, Wage loss compensation, and schedule awards. In addition, in certain circumstances you might be entitled to have OWCP pay for surgery. (Return to FAQ)
What is Continuation of Pay?
After a traumatic on-the-job injury, you may be entitled to up to 45 days continuation of pay (COP) at your regular pay rate while you seek medical treatment. What is a Schedule Award?
A schedule award is payment by OWCP for a permanent loss (or loss of use)
of certain body parts. (OWCP calls the body parts “members”). Payment
is made for a specified time period based on the degree of the
