Veterans Benefits: Salisbury, North Carolina VA Medical Center "Blitz"

The Salisbury (North Carolina) VA Medical Center is apparently helping other hospitals in the VA's Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network catch up on their C&P Exams. The VA Medical Center is using a technique they call a "blitz" - setting aside time from general care appointments for C&P exams. Of course, the possibility that the VA could get caught up on its significant backlog of C&P (Compensation and Pension) is positive news. Getting caught up is only half of the problem - the inherent flaws in the system (a 1950s style application process, untrained employees, bureaucratic in-fighting, and a sheer lack of organization within the VA, to name but a few) are problems that need to be addressed if the VA has any hope of promptly administering to the Veterans it purports to serve. The Attig Law Firm would be curious to hear from Veterans who experienced a C&P exam during the Salisbury VAMC blitz. Shoot us an email at [email protected] and tell us about your experience.
