The Attig Law Firm congratulates one of our Veteran clients who recently received word that his request for TDIU has been granted.
TDIU stands for Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability.
TDIU effectively raises a Veteran's rate of compensation to 100% based on certain criteria. I have published an ebook teaching Veterans 2 different ways to prove TDIU.
In this recent case, our client started out without any service connection for his medical conditions.
We assisted him before the CAVC, and the BVA and VARO on remand to secure an overall 70% rating for multiple conditions. As a result of his unemployment due to the collective effect of these conditions, the Veteran's compensation rate was lifted from 70% to 100%. Additionally, because the VA Regional Office should have made this decision in 2002, the Veteran was awarded 11 years of past due TDIU benefits.
Congratulations to our client for sticking through an 11 year fight with the VA for these benefits!
